About Legacy Tree Care

We’ve worked on commercial property around Plano since 2005. Office parks, retail centers, HOA common areas, industrial sites and land under development, across Collin, Dallas and Denton Counties.

What This Company Is Actually Organized Around

Most tree companies are organized around the work. Somebody calls, a crew goes, a tree comes down, an invoice follows. That model works fine on a house.

On commercial property the tree is rarely the hard part. The hard part is that somebody has to answer for it later: an owner asking why it cost that, a board approving money against a document, an adjuster asking what was known and when. We’re built around that second problem, and the three things below are how.

Documentation Is The Deliverable

Written assessments, inventories and inspection records are the product rather than a byproduct of it. They’re what a risk manager files and what an adjuster asks for, and most of our competitors hand over a verbal opinion and an invoice instead.

The reports are written to be forwarded, because they always are. An owner sends one to a board, a manager sends one to an insurer, a developer sends one to a plan reviewer. A report that only makes sense to the person who commissioned it has failed at the first step.

The report is the receipt for the work, which is the whole reason it isn’t a service we upsell separately.

The Property Shouldn’t Notice Us

Insurance certificates before mobilization. Work scheduled around tenants rather than around our calendar. Lanes and fire lanes reopened when we said. Site clean at the end of the day, not the end of the job.

The measure we actually use is whether the property manager heard about us from anybody. A crew that generates tenant complaints costs a manager more than the tree work saved, and it’s the single most reliable way for a vendor to lose the second job.

One Number, And We Answer For It.

A single contact and a single number, and we answer for the outcome regardless of who was holding the saw.

Portfolio managers don’t want to coordinate specialists. They want one person who says handled, and who is still reachable when something needs explaining three months later.

What We Know That’s Worth Something

Tree ordinances in this market are municipal rather than county or state, so the rules change at the city line and frequently change sharply. Nine cities in our service area use nine different instruments, thresholds and mitigation formulas.

We read each city’s ordinance directly rather than working from summaries, and the whole comparison is published on this site rather than kept as a sales advantage. On development work that knowledge is the difference between a clean first review and a lost cycle.

The Arborist Who Signs The Report

Assessments, tree risk evaluations and the written reports that come out of them are the work of Taylor Guynes, ISA Certified Arborist TX-433A.

We don’t employ Taylor, and that’s deliberate. His full-time work is urban forestry for a nonprofit, running projects across the Dallas area, so he arrives at your property with no removals to justify. We bring him in because the assessment is the product, and an assessment is worth exactly what the person signing it knows. He grew up here too, so the ordinance he’s reading on your project is his own city’s.

A record like that doesn’t usually sit behind a tree company’s assessment. It sits behind ours, and it’s the thing we’re proudest of.

The One Guarantee We Make

Customer satisfaction, and it’s the only guarantee on this page. We don’t leave a property until we’ve earned your five star review.

That’s a statement about the standard rather than about paperwork. It means the lanes are open, the site is clean, the work matches what was quoted, and anything that isn’t right gets put right before the crew stands down rather than after an invoice arrives.

What We Won’t Tell You

This site publishes what has been substantiated and nothing else, which is a shorter list than most contractor sites carry.

We make no promise that a tree won’t fail, which is a deliberate position rather than an omission. Trees are living things in an environment nobody controls, and anyone assuring you otherwise is selling a certainty that doesn’t exist.

How A First Conversation Usually Goes

Somebody calls or sends the walkthrough form, and the reply is a time to walk the property rather than a price.

That isn’t a sales technique, it’s that a number produced without seeing the site is a guess dressed as a quote. Access, what sits under the tree, whether a lane has to close and which city the property is in all move the figure more than the tree does, and none of them are visible in a photograph.

The walkthrough produces a written assessment: what’s there, what condition it’s in, what we’d do, and what we’d leave alone. Nothing in that document becomes a quote until you ask for one, and a fair number of them end in less work than the property expected.

What We’re Usually Called About First

Three situations, in roughly this order.

A tree that has started to worry somebody, usually because it leans, drops limbs or sits over parking. A property changing hands or changing use, where somebody needs to know what the canopy is worth and what it’ll cost. And a development site where the trees turn out to carry an obligation nobody priced.

The first is a condition question, the second is due diligence, and the third is a compliance one. They want different work, and being clear about which is being asked is most of what a first conversation is for.

Who We Aren’t For

Residential work is accepted and never pursued. If you have a tree at home we can help, and you may be better served by a company built for that work, with the pricing and the scheduling that suits it.

This site is built for property managers, HOA boards, developers, campuses, retail centers, industrial sites and municipal work, and it’s deliberately written to pre-qualify rather than to cast wide.

You Want To Know What You Have

An arborist walks the property, you get the condition in writing, and the estimate costs you nothing.

Nothing Is Wrong Yet

Get on file before the season. Properties we already hold move faster on a storm night, because the crew isn't spending the first hour learning the site.

Set Up A Vendor Agreement

Commercial property only, fully responsible for the outcome, and we call 15 to 30 minutes before we arrive. The insurance clears before a truck moves. (214) 668-8346.

Tell Us About The Property

We'll walk the site, put the condition of every tree in writing, and give you a scope you can take to a board or a budget meeting. No obligation, and no pressure to decide on the spot.

If a limb is down or a lane is blocked right now, calling is faster than a form.
